Optometry prevents and diagnoses abnormalities of the visual function, better known as refractive errors, as well as treatment and rehabilitation by physical – optical medium and optical aids.

The optometrist evaluates the patient and according to the visual problems found, age of the patient and other special conditions, then recommends the required correction: eyeglasses, contact lenses or refractive surgery. Adaptation of contact lenses must be performed by specialized professionals as it is done depending on the type of visual problem each patient has and who will also recommend different types of contact lenses available: soft, rigid, gas permeable, bifocals.
