What are cataracts?

A Cataract’s main symptom is getting the sensation of a blurred vision, like fog.  Also, it manifests as a glare at night and a reduction on the contrast vision when looking at things.

The onset of Cataracts is often associated with age and it usually occurs in people over 50 years old due to aging of the lens.

At the Clínica de Oftalmología de Cali, we treat and solve this problem with Phacoemulsification surgery, a technique in which a state-of-the-art multifocal intraocular lens is implanted, recovering more than 95% of vision on the patient.

We also do Phaco-Refractive Surgery for patients who want to stop wearing eyeglasses. In this treatment, cutting-edgeintraocular lens are also used to correct Myopia, Hyperopia, Presbyopia and Astigmatism.
